About Crystal
As a lifelong equestrian with degrees in Equine Studies, Equine Business Management, and Riding, Crystal brings both deep expertise and a compassionate approach to each rider and horse she works with. Crystal has owned and managed boarding, training, and lesson stables, teaching riders from all backgrounds—from backyard riders to competitive show participants in Wellington, FL. Her comprehensive experience includes working as a veterinary technician at large equine surgical facilities, becoming a certified equine massage therapist, and holding certifications as a CHA riding instructor and MA instructor.
Training Philosophy
Crystal’s training approach is rooted in the belief that many so-called “problem” behaviors are simply a horse’s way of communicating. With a focus on understanding these signals, Crystal avoids force and dominance, instead encouraging horses to engage willingly. Her positive reinforcement-based training nurtures a horse’s curiosity and enjoyment in learning, building a genuine connection between horse and rider.
Hands-On, Personalized Instruction
In her travels for clinics and lessons, Crystal tailors each session to the specific goals and challenges of the client. She guides clients through a variety of challenges, from mounting issues to refining the canter depart, all while setting short- and long-term goals. Crystal also addresses subtler issues, like overcoming a fear of hoses or correcting a horse’s corner-cutting habit. Each lesson is designed to strengthen the rider-horse partnership, guided by the horse’s subtle cues.
Virtual Training and Video Submissions
Crystal offers virtual support through video submissions, where clients can submit riding footage for review and feedback. Whether clients need help with a specific issue or wish to refine techniques, video feedback allows Crystal to provide detailed observations that help riders improve their equitation and responsiveness. Clients can choose email feedback, where Crystal highlights cues and answers questions, or a 1:1 live review session, where they watch the footage together via Zoom to discuss insights and next steps.
With recent accolades, including completing show seasons as Green Horse division champion on three different horses—one of whom was completely blind—Crystal continues to bring dedication, skill, and empathy to her equine partnerships. Her commitment to learning and evolving ensures that every horse and rider receive the thoughtful guidance they need to thrive together.
